Quebec Entrepreneurs
The Quebec Entrepreneur Program is designed for foreign nationals who have business management experience and would like to establish or acquire a business in the Province of Quebec. To qualify you must intend to settle in Quebec, have alone, or with your accompanying spouse net assets of at least $300,000 CAD that was obtained legally, and have at least two years of experience managing a business within the last five years.
The following selection factors are also taken into account:
- • your age and the age of your spouse, if applicable
- • the nature and duration of your training
- • your language skills
- • your personal qualities and your knowledge of Quebec
In addition, upon your arrival in Quebec, you must comply for a period of at least one year within the period of three years after obtaining permanent resident status, with the following conditions:
- • create or acquire a business in Quebec where you hold at least 25% of the capital equity with a value of at least $100,000 CAD, and which will employ on a permanent basis a Quebec resident other than yourself or your family members
- • participate in the daily management and operations of the business
