Federal Self-Employed Workers
The Federal Self-Employed Worker Program is designed for foreign nationals who are self-employed in cultural activities or athletics and intend to become self-employed in Canada. To qualify you must demonstrate the ability to become self-employed in Canada. You must have at least two years experience within the past five years of self-employment in cultural activities or athletics in the profession or trade you plan to practice in Canada, or two years experience participating at a world-class level in cultural activities or athletics, or two years experience in farm management and you have the intention and ability to purchase and manage a farm in Canada. There are no minimum net worth requirements and no conditions placed on self-employed workers upon entry to Canada.
