Canada’s Immigration Minister, Ahmed Hussen, played up the positive impact of immigrants and refugees on the country and its economy in an address this week to international immigration experts gathered in the nation’s capital city, Ottawa.

Between 2011 and 2016, Atlantic Canada experienced the weakest population growth in the country. This was due in part to the region’s low intake of immigrants.

Atlantic Canada’s incredible immigration run continued in 2019 as the region welcomed nearly 18,000 newcomers.

On march 4th ,Canada is extending its Atlantic Immigration Pilot to December 2021 in a bid to maintain the program’s momentum, the federal government has announced.

Millions of new Canadians will arrive through Canada’s various immigration programs during the new decade and several expected policy updates will help to pave the way in 2020.

A majority of Canadians continue to hold positive views on key aspects of immigration and few see immigrants and refugees as a pressing national concern, a new Environics Institute survey has found.

In a bid to improve client service, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is completely digitizing the application submission process for Canada’s inland and outland spousal and common-law partner sponsorship programs.

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) is a critical initial step for many international students after completing their studies in Canada. The PGWP allows graduates to work for any employer in Canada for up to three years, depending on the length of their study program. While the PGWP is not a PR pathway itself, the Canadian work experience gained through it is highly beneficial and often essential for qualifying for various PR pathways.

 The EMPP was designed to help skilled refugees immigrate to Canada through existing economic programs.

As of December 15,2021 to February 2022 in the period of 2 months IRCC finalized 3583 applications of the economic class applicants for more than 25 different economic immigration programs, as follow:

Immigration is vital to the future of communities across the country, and nowhere more so than in Atlantic Canada. The Atlantic Immigration Pilot welcomed over 12,700 newcomers across the region, strengthening our communities and helping our businesses succeed. We announced the new permanent Atlantic Immigration Program, recognizing the need to build on this success as we continue to recover from the pandemic and address labour shortages across Atlantic Canada.

That, in the opinion of the House, the government should develop and publicly release within 120 days following the adoption of this motion a comprehensive plan to expand the economic immigration stream to allow workers of all skill levels to meet the full range of labour needs and pathways to permanent residency for temporary foreign workers, including international students, with significant Canadian work experience in sectors with persistent labour shortages, and such plan should incorporate the following elements:

The Ministère is temporarily suspending the intake of permanent ‎immigration applications under the Québec Graduates stream of the ‎Programme de l’expérience québécoise (PEQ - Québec experience ‎program).

The AIP is an employer-driven program that facilitates the hiring of foreign nationals.
