While most international students in Canada must keep to a 24-hour weekly limit during the school term, there are situations where this cap does not apply.
On campus
Jobs located directly at your school, whether with the institution itself, a faculty member, or even a private business on campus, are not subject to weekly limits. Students who establish their own business on campus also fall under this category.
Freelancing abroad
Students may take on freelance projects for clients outside Canada without restriction. This type of work is not considered participation in the Canadian labour market, though it must still be declared as income in Canada for tax purposes.
Break periods
During official breaks scheduled by the school (minimum one week, up to 150 days), students can work full-time for any employer, on or off campus.
